9/20/2025: I wanted to make a game that would be simple, because I wanted to focus on learning 3D in Unity as the focus of this experience. I’ve never coded in Unity before, and since I’m making a logic game, there is a lot of possibility in making it over complicated. The game concept I came up with is one where you are given 3d models to look at, and you have different interactive options with them (turning over the model, “poking” it, “whispering” to it), which will reveal if the item is haunted or not according to the rule book. There will also be a time limit, since I think the game would be more entertaining under stress. At the end, you will be told how many items you missed and how many you got correct.

9/21/2025: I was very stuck on what the 3D models should be. I was originally thinking haunted toys or dolls, but that would suck up a lot of my time working on the models. I changed my mind to apple sorting. I think it would be fun to make the player someone who works for the company “Iseea Apples” which is mentioned in my last game, Edge of the Orchard. I also changed the punishment to a maximum number of mistakes allowed (still including the timer), so that the player can’t spam through as quickly as possible. The number of mistakes and time limit will be tweaked when I actually test how the game play feels. As for the logic, there will be three colours of apples that have different leaf requirements, but if the apple is stretched or squished, the rules rotate clockwise or vice versa. This way, the player will have to think harder and not be able to go on auto pilot as quickly.

9/24/2025: Today I created the schedule of all coding + needed assets. As a baseline before doing anything else, I will be creating just the apple assets and coding the game logic. After the game works, I will create the rest of the assets. This way, if worse comes to worst, I will still have a functioning game, it just won’t look pretty. Hopefully it won't come to that however, since I have a schedule that includes days off that I could use if I needed to.
